This morning, I nibbled a few bites of leftover green fish curry for breakfast. Not my usual breakfast, but entirely satisfactory, and I think you'll find this potato breakfast curry with poached egg equally satisfying. I love breakfasts that really wake you up, and I marked this recipe from Morsels and Musings to share with those of you who also like to start the day with a meal that has some oomph. Think of this as a version of Indian eggs and home fries, and open your mind to curry for breakfast.

Gina, of Skinnytaste, grew up with Latin flavors in her family kitchen, and what she loves about Caribbean cooking is that it's similar to Latin cuisine, only hotter. (I can get behind that, too.) This Jamaican brown stew chicken in a coconut milk base, served over hot rice, sounds like a perfect party dish you can make ahead. Cut back on the amount of Scotch bonnet pepper if you don't love really spicy food. Add an avocado and tomato salad, and you have a truly festive meal.

Crockpot roasted cauliflower soup with curry and honey, from A year of Slow Cooking (on Soup Chick).

Stephanie of A Year of Slow Cooking couldn't get her kids to eat this soup, but 2013 is my Year of Learning to Love Cauliflower, and the combination of flavors in this crockpot roasted cauliflower soup with curry and honey really appeal to me. Anything I can make more easily in the slow cooker appeals to me, too. I love the idea of passing the honey jar to let everyone add to their own taste. I'd probably add some lemon, either in the soup or on the side, to my own taste.
