Seven soups every Saturday: chocolate soup recipes

Peppermint hot chocolate soup, from Culinary Concoctions by Peabody.

Chocolate soup. It's either the best idea ever, or the least probable. As a chocolate lover, I'm going with best idea ever. Lest you think that chocolate means sweet, remember that chocolate pairs with warm spices like cumin, and with chile peppers, in ways that are undeniably savory.

Seven chocolate soup recipes caught my eye this week:

Warm chocolate soup with vanilla ice cream, from The Passionate Cook

Chocolate soup, from One Perfect Bite

Dark chocolate soup with cinnamon-toasted pound cake croutons, from Abby Sweets

Chocolate chili roasted butternut squash soup, from Food52

Marshmallow panna cotta with peppermint "hot chocolate" soup, from Culinary Concoctions by Peabody

Chocolate-chipotle black bean soup, from I Heart Kale

White chocolate soup, from Chubby Hubby

Jiggs, you're welcome! Please let us know if you try any of these recipes.

Pauline, none of them, yet. But I will.

Melynda, I think so, too. Chocolate soup really is the best idea ever.
