Seven soups every Saturday: noodle soup recipes

Teresasbowls

Did you know that Campbell's Soup packs close to a million miles of noodles into the chicken noodle soup it sells each year? I grew up slurping (and loving) those noodles in their salty broth, and though I no longer eat soup from a can, I still love to slurp. These days my taste runs more towards the delicate flavors of Asian noodle soups, and hearty, vegetable-rich Italian pasta soups. Whatever the flavor profile, noodle soup is good food.

These seven noodle soup recipes caught my eye this week:

Chicken pho noodle soup, from Viet World Kitchen

Roasted cauliflower and mushroom pasta soup, from What's Cooking?

Chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles, from For the love of cooking

Ginger beef noodle soup, from Eliza Domestica

Chickpea and pasta soup, from The Well-Seasoned Cook

Salmon noodle soup, from Closet Cooking

Hong-Kong style wonton noodle soup, from Appetite for China

----------

This week's seven soup bowls are from Teresa in Burlington, North Carolina, who writes, "Here you go: soup mug with handle and attached saucer to hold crackers is pottery from Seagrove, North Carolina area pottery; blue spongeware bowl up front is Stangl; small green bowl on right is from British Columbia, Canada pottery; blue, red, green and yellow spongeware bowls from Williams-Sonoma."

If you'd like to share photos of seven soup bowls from your kitchen -- or from a friend's house, or your parents', or an antique shop, or a housewares store, or a school or restaurant -- I'd love to share those photos on Saturdays.

Here are the ground rules: send one photo, of seven soup bowls. The bowls must all be able to be used for eating soup (no mixing bowls or troughs, please). Send the largest file your camera will allow; I'll size it to fit. Make sure the photo is in focus (very important). Tell me in one sentence whose bowls are in the photo, or where you took the picture. If you're a blogger, I'll link to your blog.

That's it. One photo, seven soup bowls, one sentence about them. Email to lydia AT ninecooks DOT com.
