Seven soups every Saturday: black bean soup recipes

When I bought my first slow cooker two years ago, the first thing I made was a big batch of black beans. I've been cranking out beans ever since, cooking them on low for 18 hours and freezing them in containers just the right size for a batch of soup. Smooth or chunky, sweet or spicy, black bean soup always makes me happy, and I'm amazed at how many variations I haven't tried yet.

Black bean soup is one of my husband's favorite soups, but I have never found a recipe that completely satisfies us. I am very excited to try some of the recipes on this list.

I love black beans in any type of recipe. My dad was the one who got started me eating them; they're his favorite kind of beans by far. This looks like a good collection of black bean soups; thanks for including me.
