Slow cooker simple French onion soup, from 365 Days of Slow Cooking
The first time I ordered French onion soup, I was ten years old. My parents took me to a French creperie in New York City after a concert at Lincoln Center. I felt so grown up, dressed in one of my favorite outfits, trying hard to act like the teenager I wanted to be. I ordered the soup because it had the word French in its name, and when it arrived, with its cheesy crouton floating on top, I thought I'd gone to heaven. French onion soup still makes me feel all grown up. I can't wait to try this simple French onion soup from 365 Days of Slow Cooking.

I still remember the first time I ordered french onion soup. I felt so grown up! This sounds delicious. And I can't wait for it to cool down just enough for me to make it.
I adore French onion soup! It's not something I can order out gf very often, so making my own safe version in the slow cooker is a great idea! :-)
Thanks, Lydia!

Monet, isn't it funny how our early memories of "fancy" food include French onion soup? I remember that experience so vividly.
Shirley, with gluten-free bread, this would be great for you.
